Honouring My Brothers on Their Solar Return

The inscription on the headstone reads:

“In Loving Memory of Twin Brothers David Emmanuel & Daniel Ezekiel Simpson 23.05.1988 – 30.12.2021 Aged 33 Beloved Sons, Brothers and Uncles Forever in our hearts.”

Today is my baby bro’s solar return. Me and My mum and Sea Star went to visit him, putting flowers down and cleaning the stones. They would have been 36 today. Bless them. They are not gone; they live on in our hearts and memories.

Even after three years, it still hurts to miss loved ones, but it becomes easier as time passes. The pain lessens. It’s all about our thoughts and how we choose to perceive things, shaping our perspective. We can take the “feel sorry for me” approach and think negatively, but that only leaves us in a hurt place. It takes a lot of meditation and focus to stay positive after heartbreak and to stray away from sorrowful thinking. What keeps me strong is knowing my brothers are at heaven’s gates, watching over us and guiding us daily. They wouldn’t want us to feel down. They came into this reality together and left together. How special is that? They came here on a mission, and when they left their physical forms, they became mental forms. Energy cannot be destroyed; it just changes form, like water to air or ice, depending on how it’s manipulated.

In their honor, I’ve dedicated music to my brothers. Each note, each lyric, is a tribute to their memory, a way to keep their spirit alive. Music has always been a source of comfort and strength for me, and through these melodies, I feel their presence. Their favorite songs play, and I can almost hear them singing along, reminding me that they are always with us, guiding us with their eternal love and light.
